Instrumentation for investigation of magnetic excitation

The study of spin wave and other types of magnetic excitations uses the same instrumentation as described in Scattering from lattice vibrations page. In particular, time-of-flight spectrometers and triple-axis spectrometers are useful.

As for the study of magnetic structures, also the study of magnetic excitations benefits from the use of polarized neutrons. This will be discussed in a later chapter (not yet finished).
